University of Winchester: New Dean appointed to Lead the Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Martin Broad BA(Hons) PhD ACMA GCMA FHEA as the new Dean of the University's Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies and Director of the University of Winchester Business School.

Martin, a Chartered Management Accountant, is currently the Head of Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. With nearly 30 years' experience within higher education, Martin is also currently the Chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools' International Committee and a Vice-Chair of Council for the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Martin's research interests are in Performance Management and Governance, particularly in the higher education sector globally.

Martin's arrival comes at a time of growth in the range of courses offered within the faculty, including major expansion in digital technologies with new degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security and Data Science. The new building recently completed in the University's West Downs Quarter will house state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate these new courses including specialist labs for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Software Engineering and Enterprise Networking, as well as Digital Innovation, AR/VR/3d and Motion Capture.

Martin will also be instrumental in supporting the ongoing development of the Faculty's growing research base across different areas of expertise including responsible management, sustainability, information rights and criminal justice.
